Multisig distributes signing authority, but it also adds coordination and backup requirements. A written operating procedure helps the team use the setup consistently.
01 / Record the wallet configuration
Preserve the required wallet descriptors or configuration exports, signer information and derivation details according to your wallet’s documentation. Seed backups alone may not contain everything needed to reconstruct a multisig wallet.
02 / Standardize signing
Have signers independently verify the destination, amount and relevant transaction details on trusted devices. Keep the review process understandable and distinguish technical signature thresholds from internal business approvals.
03 / Exercise recovery carefully
Use a controlled recovery exercise with appropriate signing hardware and verified configuration backups. Do not casually import seeds into a networked coordinator or paste them into support tools. Follow the specific device and wallet procedure.
04 / Plan signer changes
Removing a person from a business process does not invalidate a key that still belongs to the wallet policy. Plan a new policy and controlled transfer when changing signers, with independent verification and a documented handover.
